We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our production processes and technologies. The major environmental impact of glass production is caused by atmospheric emissions from melting activities during the float glass production process. As an alternative to the usual float glass furnace design using air as oxidant and gas as fuel, AGC Glass Europe has introduced a furnace working with pure oxygen instead of air, which resulted in one of the most ecological furnaces in the world! AGC also continuously improves and invests in technologies with better environmental performance and is evaluating new ways to drastically decrease our GHG emissions to achieve our 2030 ambitious target.
