Our environmental impact
The major environmental impact of glass production is caused by atmospheric emissions from melting activities. Other environmental issues are water pollution, the use of non-renewable natural raw materials such as sand and minerals, production of solid waste and emission of volatile organic compounds (used in production of mirrors and coatings).
Our environmental achievements
We are committed to developing products that contribute to sustainable development, and to reducing the environmental impact of the production processes. We are also committed to developing a long-term process of continuous improvement to enhance environmental protection. In this report we communicate yearly on where we stand and how we have improved. It covers the environmental achievements of AGC Glass Europe, operating with 2 divisions: Building & Industrial Glass Division (including Primary Operations and Processing) and Automotive Division.
