The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015. They consist of 17 goals and 169 targets to be achieved through 2030. They are a call for action by all countries to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognise that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection.
AGC Group as a global player has declared its commitment to the SDGs in 2017. We have identified several SDGs where AGC Glass Europe can play an active role through its processes and products. In the frame of this Sustainability Report, focus will be on the SDGs that are closely aligned with areas of environmental issues.
