As for the first balance, the 2014 GHG emissions were calculated according to the methodology published by the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport & Housing.

The reference year for the GHG balance for AGC France SAS is 2007. The progress in terms of GHG emissions was calculated between 2007 and 2011 and lastly for 2014.

In 2011, AGC France SAS generated GHG emissions amounting to 252,627 tonnes of CO2 equivalent (direct and indirect emissions associated with energy consumption). This was 18% less than in 2007. In 2014, the total amount emitted by AGC France SAS was around 149,200 TCO2eq., 105,000 TCO2eq less than in 2011. This was possible thanks to continuous efforts with investments made in our production processes for flat glass and all the efficiency gains, including in our supply chain.

AGC France SAS aims for continuous improvement in its carbon footprint.  In order to achieve this, it plans to further improve the furnaces as well as the lighting and heating systems. Overall, from now to 2017 AGC France SAS plans to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by an additional 1250 TCO2eq.
