As one of the market leaders in glass production, AGC Glass Europe is committed to being at the forefront in developing new products with better environmental performance during their lifetime, including recycling at the end of their life.
Fulfilling this commitment forms part of the mission of our R&D Centre. AGC Glass European R&D Centre seeks to meet customers' requirements through research that takes into account human welfare and protection of the environment. Drawing on the dynamic interaction between its research teams and the group's business units, the R&D Centre is able to develop the high-tech glass products of tomorrow.

We also aim to communicate about the environmental performance of our products in an objective and professional way. In this connection we fully support and participate in the progress towards a globally accepted and harmonised system of Environmental Product Declarations (see “Environmental declarations and certifications”).
Finally, in order to consider its total impact on the environment, AGC Glass Europe calculated its' carbon footprint, based on the one hand the CO2 emitted by all activities of AGC Glass Europe and on the other the savings achieved through the use of our environment-friendly products during their lifetime.
