To build its new headquarters in Louvain-La-Neuve (on the outskirts of Brussels), AGC Glass Europe, a European leader in flat glass, issued a call for tenders.
In a nutshell
AGC Glass Europe has a site available in Louvain-La-Neuve, together with detailed contract specifications for construction and fitting out of a building of up to four storeys (ground floor + three upper floors). The site must be able to accommodate nearly 500 employees.
The challenge
AGC Glass Europe aims to make its new HQ a glass benchmark in line with its signature “Glass Unlimited.” As such it must combine innovation, sustainable development, quality and comfort.
The essential conditions
All submissions for the project must meet the following five essential conditions:
- The building must be “zero energy”
- The design must be timeless, immune to the vagaries of architectural fashion
- It must promote informal communication, meeting and discussion
- It must showcase AGC’s positioning in terms of innovation
- It must make use of AGC's wide range of architectural and decorative glass
